Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar Ph.D program and the Pre-doctoral program Admission Notice 2013
Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar – an autonomous research institution within the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. The Institute invites application for its regular Ph.D program and the Pre-doctoral program from Indian nationals having the following qualifications:
1. M.Sc. in Physics with a minimum of 55% marks (in aggregate).
2. A valid GATE score with rank up to 200 *,
OR
CSIR-UGC- NET qualifiers within the last one-year.
OR
Candidates who are offered DST-Inspire fellowship for carrying out Ph. D program.

Candidates who have qualified JEST-2013 with a minimum score of 25 marks (cutoff rank of 174) need not send any application. They will be contacted directly by the Institute. If a candidate has scored less than 25 marks (cutoff rank of 174) in JEST-2013 but satisfies any of the criteria mentioned above, he/she may also send the application.
Candidates appearing for the final semester/year of M.Sc., who have already qualified in GATE or CSIR/UGC-NET or have obtained DST-Inspire fellowship can also apply. They should submit the relevant proof before joining the program. In case of non-availability of the M.Sc. results at the time of joining, the admission will be treated as provisional.

Admission Procedure
All eligible candidates, whether through JEST-2013 or through direct application against this advertisement, will have to appear for a short written test on the morning of 28th June, 2013. Result of the written test will be published on the same day and short-listed candidates will have to appear for a personal interview between June 28th–30th, 2013. Final merit list will be prepared based on the scores of both the written test and the interview.
